Public Internet access is available free of charge at all Yukon Public Libraries. Time limits and other restrictions are in effect. Please contact your local library for more information.
At Whitehorse Public Library, 5 Internet-accessible workstations are available for public access at all hours the library is open. Computers are also equipped with Microsoft Office software. These computers are booked in half-hour time slots, and can be used for a maximum of one hour per day per patron. Computer bookings can be done in person or by phone (667-5239), up to one week in advance. An additional workstation is available on a drop-in basis (first come, first served) to accommodate quick e-mail checks. Maximum use for this workstation is 15 minutes per person.
Wireless Internet access is available in Whitehorse Public Library as a convenience to library users. User names/passwords are available at the front desk of the library on a first come, first served basis.
As bandwidth is limited, use is restricted to two hours/day/person. Priority uses are e-mail, research and social networking. The system is not able to support high data uses. Please see the Wireless Access Description and User Guide (
26KB) for more information.
Everyone wishing to use the Internet at a Yukon Public Library must sign an Internet User Agreement Form (
108KB).
The signature of a parent or legal guardian is also required for users under Grade 9 in school.
