Online Databases

Yukon Public Libraries subscribes to several online databases designed to help you with everything from homework to car repair. To log in, you will need your Patron ID Number, which can be found underneath the barcode on your library card. You will also need your PIN number. If you don't have a PIN or can't access the databases, call 667-5239.

Databases A-Z Directory

Auto Repair Reference Center
Best for: auto repair info when we don’t have a Haynes or Chilton guide
Repair procedures, technical specs, wiring diagrams and factory drawings for hundreds of vehicles from 1945 to present.

Canadian Reference Center
Best for: basic research on a wide variety of subjects – Canadian sources.
Canadian magazines, newspapers, newswires and reference books. Includes leading periodicals in full text; full-text reference books, biographies and an Image Collection of over 502,000 photos, maps and flags.

Best for: finding fiction based on a patron’s favourite books/authors; finding information on a book or author
An electronic readers’ advisory guide, to help readers of fiction find their favourite books and authors, as well as new books and authors they might enjoy. Contains reviews and synopses of books for adults, children and teens.

Small Engine Repair Reference Center
Best for: repair information for ATVs, snowmobiles, chainsaws, etc. etc.
Maintenance and repair procedures for hundreds of small engine machines, including ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, lawn mowers, snow blowers, generators, and more.

World Book Online
Best for: basic research on a wide variety of subjects
Thousands of encyclopedia articles on a wide variety of subjects, plus video and photo galleries, magazine articles and more!
